Eternal Life and Intercession — Peace in the Lord

Theme:Eternal Life and Intercession — Peace in the Lord
Introduction:In this sacred corner of our parish, we remember our ancestors with deep reverence. The Crucifix stands as a testament to Christ’s victory over death. Each small church within the niches represents a beloved soul resting in the Lord. We believe that life is changed, not ended, by death. Here, we join our prayers with the saints and our ancestors, looking forward to our reunion in the Father’s House.
Scripture:"He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, wailing or pain." —— (Revelation 21:4)
Artistic Appreciation
Eternal Rest Beneath the Cross The overall design centers on a wooden Crucifix, creating an atmosphere that is both solemn and warm. The Crucifix is not only a symbol of faith but also signifies the Lord Jesus opening His arms to embrace all hardships and longings—granting eternal rest to the departed and spiritual consolation to the living.
Chapel-Shaped Niches The niches are designed in the form of small chapels (House of God), artfully echoing the words of Jesus: "In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places" (John 14:2). This design perfectly integrates traditional ancestral veneration with the Catholic belief in eschatology, symbolizing that our ancestors enjoy eternal glory in the heavenly mansions.
The Continuity of Prayer The neatly arranged niches form a "Wall of Prayer." As the faithful light candles and pray here, the interplay of light and shadow dancing across the wooden niches reveals a vibrant heritage of faith—a love that transcends the boundaries between the earthly world and the Kingdom of Heaven.
Spiritual Reflection:As you stand before the memorial of your ancestors, feel the love that transcends time. We do not only remember the past but support one another in the Lord. May the Lord grant them eternal rest and give us the grace to be the light of the Gospel in this world.
